Flashes of Pain

And you might notice that Parker has a green things stuck to his arm. When my family went to Moab a couple weekends ago, P was running around and he fell down and caught himself on his wrist. It wasn't a clear break but for the next couple of days he complained of it hurting.  He would way, "Mom! I just got another flash of pain!" So funny. After they got home, they went and had x-rays taken. He has a small fracture, but no big deal. They just don't want it to get worse, especially with him playing sports and such.


As you can tell he signed his own cast. We tease him it was because he might forget his own name. I asked him if I could sign it and he said that I could but it had to be little, he didn't want me to take up the whole thing. So on the under part of his arm I wrote. MY FAVORITE SISTER KAYLEE! He secretly loved it. :)

You might be able to tell through all of the Pizza mess on his face, he lost his first top tooth on Saturday. It was hanging by a string and he finally pulled it out becuase he was hungry but was afraid to eat. Haha 

Park City Skiing!

So this past weekend I had the chance to go home. I went home Friday afternoon and spent that night playing games with my family. We played Apples to Apples Junior with my little brothers. They are so hysterical. They kept making comments and puns like crazy.

The next day my Dad and I went skiing at Park City. My friend had two extra passes that she gave us to use. It was a great day. There was some new snow that had just fallen so we had a lot of great powder. Well when we got up there, I realized that I had grabbed my brothers poles instead of mine. Don't judge, it was early and they are the same color, kinda... And my goggles were in logan so I just grabbed my moms out of her locker and come to find out, they were her motor cycle goggles, with clear lenses. Oh man! After trying to do my best for the morning, we went and bought new ones. Thanks Dad!

So last week I had to say good bye to one of my greatest friends! Matt was one of my neighbors last year. We hung out a ton, and then in the fall I continued to hang out with him. We hit the hot tubs, play games and watch western movies. He taught me how to rope, the metal chair with a bull head tied to it. We had some great times. He really helped me through some hard times last year when I was missing my sister and my family. 

 He just graduated in December and about a month ago got a couple of job offers. One was in Northern California, which was far away, but manageable. The other one was in Trubchevsk, Russia. Yep. RUSSIA!! Holy Cow! That was the company that offered him the job and that's the one that he took. So he will be here for the next who-knows-how-long

IWA Closing Banquet

Last night we had our IWA closing banquet. It was so fun to dress 

up and have dinner with these great girls.I  truly believe that we have the best chapter.  I have started having a hard time thinking that I won't be here next year with these girls. They have taught me so much and my testimony has been strengthened. I have met so many new friends. 

Independence Girls! 

Oh Sister Neeley! She is the greatest. She never fails to ask me how I'm doing or shoot me a text to see how my weekend was. She is always there for me to talk to when things get rough. 

Ally! One of my best friends that I have made while at Utah State. Who knew that after being roommates we would still be great friends. She is the greatest. When I grow up I want to to just like Ally Spjut! 

I'm going to miss these girlies so much next year!! 

Mmmm Cornbread

On nights like this when its raining, and looks gloomy outside. I love to curl up with soup, and my new favorite cornbread. I have been sick too so it was fabulous! Hopefully it is the magic bean that will make me feel better.

Here is the recipe

Ingredients

         1 1/2 cups cornmeal

         2 1/2 cups milk

         2 cups all-purpose flour

         1 tablespoon baking powder

         1 teaspoon salt

         2/3 cup white sugar

         2 eggs

         1/2 cup vegetable oil

Directions

1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). In a small bowl, combine cornmeal and milk; let stand for 5 minutes. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

2.In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix in the cornmeal mixture, eggs and oil until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center of the cornbread comes out clean.

Conference

This past was one of my favorite weekends of the year. General Conference! There are always wonderful messages, that I swear were written just for me. I was incredibly uplifted this year.

Grandma and I had the chance to go. We left at 7:30 to ride the Trax up and to get a good seat. It was a great conference session and there were some great messages shared. Talks about keeping the sabbath day holy, teaching our children,  following Christ, Keeping covenants, pain (spiritual, emotional, and physical, a great talk about women, and service. And that was just from Saturday morning

After conference we walked over and through the New Deseret book. I got to meet one of my favorite authors, Dean Hughes. He has some awesome books.

After that we walked all over doing some research for my mom and I. We were looking for place where we could all go and eat after we go through the temple on the 18th. I was wanting to go to the Nauvoo house, but they don't have enough room for 40+ people at lunch time, who all want to sit together. So we are going to a place called Hagerman's Bakery. Grandma knows the people, and I have never been there so we will see how that goes.

PS. I am going through the temple in less that two weeks. I am so excited!!

Tangled!

A Couple of weeks ago when I was home for the weekend. I went with my mom, brothers and cousins to go see Tangled! I love this movie. Its awesome. The music in it is great, and its a very cute story.
